Founded in 1968 as a manufacturer of specialty materials for the U.S. Space Program, Alpha Engineered Composites develops, manufactures, and markets high-performance industrial fabrics, composites, and elastomers. Alpha products are used in a wide range of critical applications and industries, including aerospace, automotive, marine, petrochemical, and construction.
Our core technologies are frequently used to create new materials for energy conservation, safety, and process-specific applications. Among other innovations, Alpha has contributed to revolutionary breakthroughs in flexible industrial ducting and removable insulation blankets. Many of the products, services, and support we provide today were in response to the evolving needs, specifications, and requirements of our customers and the marketplace.
Building on the company’s revolutionary breakthroughs in flexible industrial ducting, removable insulation blankets, paperless vapor retarder, and acquired calendered rubber and specialty elastomer composites capabilities, Alpha started expanding its presence outside the United States beginning with Europe, followed by Asia, then India.

Alpha Engineered Composites Europe was established in 2005 to provide regional sales, service, and technical support to better serve our expanding customer base around the globe.
2016
The expanded use of Alpha high-temperature textile-based products in China and Eastern Asia led to the formation of Shanghai Alpha Engineered Composites in 2016. Shanghai Alpha provides sales, technical and logistics support to the region.
2019
In 2019, Alpha Europe also acquired Sigma Tex Technische Textilien, GmbH to escalate its European strategy to a new level. Sigma Tex’s technologies and product offerings complement Alpha Europe’s capabilities and increase the value delivered to the marketplace.
2020
In 2020, Alpha opened Alpha Engineered Composites Mumbai, its first commercial office on the Indian subcontinent. Alpha Mumbai will promote Alpha products and capabilities and support the Indian market.
