AVSil® 188CH Fabrication Grade Silica Fabric is a heavyweight high silica content (≥96%) fabric that is engineered to withstand continuous operating temperatures up to 1800°F (982°C) while maintaining flexibility and moderate strength. AVSil® 188CH Fabrication Grade Silica Fabric has a proprietary surface finish applied to improve the thermal performance and handling properties for the fabrication of textile parts.
The superior strength, weave construction, and high melt point 3000°F (1649°C) of AVSil® 188CH Fabrication Grade Silica Fabric makes this fabric an excellent choice for hot work operations that consist of heavy to extreme welding (sparks and molten metal splatter) and grinding applications.
AVSil® 188CH Fabrication Grade Silica Fabric can be fabricated into all types of welding curtains, blankets, or pads.
AVSil® Silica Fabrics are used extensively in the Power Generation (Nuclear Approved), Refinery, Shipbuilding, Ship Repair and Metal Processing Industries.
