For more than 20 years Alpha Associates has provided innovative materials to
meet the evolving challenges of today’s vehicles, for example, a composite
of fiberglass fabric, aluminum foil lamination and high temperature adhesive
that protects against conductive, convective and radiant heat. These materials
have been rigorously tested and approved by all the major automotive manufacturers
and are typically used in fabricated sleeves or die-cut custom shapes. Applications
include power steering lines, air conditioning hoses, wire harnesses, flexible
brake tubing and fuel delivery systems. Further material innovations include
the use of high performance pressure sensitive adhesives and lightweight non-woven
substrates. Alpha Associates has also been on the forefront of developing replacements
for rigid metal heat shields, and has combined heat-sealable films with aluminum
foils to create a radiant barrier for molded fiberglass components.
