Alphaglas PTFE-Coated Fiberglass Fabric, Tapes and Belts.
June 7, 1999
Alphaglas PTFE-impregnated fiberglass fabric
is a strong, highly cleanable, chemical-resistant material with superior
performance features for many packaging, material handling and industrial
applications. With its smooth, low-friction, non-stick surface, Alphaglas
is suitable for release sheets, guide rails and chute linings. Its
high tensile strength resists cut-through, tearing and abrasion in
all uses. And its operating temperature range from -415°to +600°F
meets heat-sealing and other high temperature requirements such as
heat containment curtains and thermal insulation for high-temperature
gaskets and seals. Alphaglas has excellent dielectric properties and
is FDA approved for food processing use.
Alphaglas products are available
in a range of grades and weights. Fabric grades include Economy, Mechanical,
Standard and Premium. Standard weights are 3, 5, 6 and 10 mil. Alphaglas
can be specially ordered with crease/tear-resistance coatings, as a
semi-conductive product, and with a bondable surface treatment. Alphaglas
tapes consist of Alphaglas fabric with a 2-mil pressure-sensitive silicone
or acrylic adhesive backing. The tapes are available in 36-yard rolls,
in widths starting at 1/4 inch. Typical tape applications include heat-sealing
hot-wire and L-bar covers, non-stick roller coverings, chute linings
and release surfaces of all kinds. Produced to customer specifications
for use on packaging, material handling and heat-sealing equipment,
Alphaglas belts are available in widths up to 120 inches in both porous
and non-porous grades. The belts are manufactured with sewn reinforced
edges and a variety of mechanical and heat-sealed splices.
