Alpha Expands Operations at Lakewood Facility

Alpha Associates celebrated the expansion of its Lakewood facilities with a ceremonial groundbreaking on Nov. 21, 2006. The New Jersey-based company is expanding operations at the Lakewood Industrial Park location; they also have manufacturing operations in Charleston, South Carolina, and Woodbridge, New Jersey.

The event was attended by A. Louis Avallone, chairman and chief executive officer, Christopher Avallone, president and chief operating officer, New Jersey state Senator Robert Singer, Lakewood Mayor Meir Lichtenstein, Lakewood Deputy Mayor Ray Coles, Russ Corby, Lakewood Industrial Commission, and Vic Ioria, Ioria Construction.

“When we originally purchased the property in Lakewood, we did so with an eye toward the future, with hopes to someday expand our operation here and build a new research and development center,” said Chris Avallone. “Over the years, we have become a member of the Lakewood community.”

The growth will create 25 new jobs in New Jersey and increase the current staffing level of Alpha in Lakewood from 30 to 130.

Senator Robert Singer (R-30) presented the Avallones with a joint resolution commemorating the groundbreaking and Lakewood Mayor Meir Lichtenstein presented the family with a proclamation.

Founded as a manufacturer of specialty materials for the U.S. Space Program, Alpha’s current core technologies are used in a variety of industries, including high temperature insulation, commercial construction, automotive and aerospace.
