Alpha Associates specializes in the dispersion coating of a wide
variety of substrates. Dispersion coating is particularly effective
in promoting adhesion in calendered rubber products. Coating formulae
and fabrics can be combined to meet the functional and environmental
requirements of your application. And in many cases, Alpha can
consult on or recommend materials to optimize both performance
and cost.
ALPHA COATING CAPABILITIES
- One- or two-sided coatings
- Vertical coating up to 118" width; horizontal coating
up to 80" width
- Available substrates include fiberglass, aramid, polyester,
nylon, cotton and nonwovens
- Coatings include water-based, solvent and 100% solids
- Silicone, neoprene, PVC, PTFE, Hypalon¨, fluoroelastomer,
acrylic, vermiculite and various pressure-sensitive adhesives

Alpha Associates has the capabilities to mix and compound all
required formulae on site. Without having to rely on third-party
resources, Alpha’s fully integrated compounding operation
can develop proprietary recipes to meet the most demanding specifications.
ALPHA COMPOUNDING CAPABILITIES
- In-house chemists focused on high-performance proprietary
formulae
- Special compounds to resist temperature extremes, oils, acids,
alkalis, gasoline and oxidizers
- State-of-the-art mixing equipment
- Formulations to meet MIL, SAE, ASTM, DIN and FDA specifications
- Toll compounding available

Multiple-pass calendering of reinforced and unreinforced rubber
is a critical component of Alpha’s capabilities. Various
standard and custom polymer formulations can be applied to one
or both sides of a substrate in different states of cure. This
range of product constructions meets stringent application requirements
for forming, fabricating, bonding and molding parts.
ALPHA CALENDERING CAPABILITIES
- Multiple advanced calenders
- Sheet widths up to 60 "
- Precision thickness tolerances from .002 " to 0.125"
- Variety of interleafs – silicone, nylon, polyester,
and metallized film
- Toll calendering available

For applications that require a cured or semi-cured compound,
Alpha Associates offers a full range of curing capabilities. Certain
polymer constructions require the highpressure capabilities of
a hydraulic press or the uniformity of a rotocure. Combining optimal
product performance and costeffectiveness, Alpha can utilize the
appropriate cure method.
ALPHA CURING CAPABILITIES
- High-pressure hydraulic presses for materials up to 54"
width
- State-of-the-art rotocure for materials up to 80" width
- Multiple vulcanizers for batch curing
- Various surface finishes
- Toll curing available

Alpha uses technologically advanced equipment and processes to
laminate films and foils to a range of substrates. Typical manufacturing
assignments include laminating metallized polyester to silicone
rubber for radiant heat protection, or laminating PTFE films to
fluoroelastomer belts to create more effective gas barriers. Other
standard products include vapor retarders, radiant barriers and
safety materials for equipment or personnel.
ALPHA LAMINATING CAPABILITIES
- Final laminated materials up to 84 " widths
- Access to a broad selection of substrates
- Water- and solvent-based adhesives

Alpha can supply materials in roll or sheet form, as requested.
Alpha slits rolls to customer specifications from 0.5" to
full width. Product can be dusted to prevent blocking or interleaved
with various substrates.
ALPHA SLITTING CAPABILITIES
- Narrow width slitting down to 0.5"
- Precision slitting tolerances of 0.0625"
- Standard roll lengths from 20 yards
- Custom roll lengths and widths
- Special packaging to customer specifications

Alpha Associates is dedicated to developing and providing innovative
products that meet your critical requirements. Our applications
engineering staff can design materials for your specifications,
provide product selection guidance, and consult on technical issues.
Alpha is equipped to perform full product testing and evaluation,
including most ASTM methods relating to elastomeric properties.
